Effective Altruism and Judaism Intro Fellowship

This 8-week virtual program is designed to explore the intersection of effective altruism (EA) principles and Jewish tradition. This fellowship provides participants with an opportunity to delve into how Jewish texts, culture, and history relate to the core ideas of effective altruism.  

The Effective Altruism and Judaism Intro Fellowship is an 8-week virtual program designed to explore the intersection of effective altruism (EA) principles and Jewish tradition. Offered by EA for Jews, this fellowship provides participants with an opportunity to delve into how Jewish texts, culture, and history relate to the core ideas of effective altruism.

Program Structure

Participants  in the fellowship engage in approximately two hours of curated reading on a different topic each week, with selections drawn from Jewish texts as well as EA and philosophical sources. Then fellows convene in cohorts of 5-10 members for a one-hour weekly group discussion facilitated by trained leaders. These discussions offer a platform to explore various topics, including:

The fellowship is open to individuals from all Jewish backgrounds and is not affiliated with any specific denomination. It aims to deepen understanding of global issues in relation to Jewish tradition, enhance the impact of participants’ careers and philanthropic efforts, and foster connections among Jews pursuing high-impact paths across various fields. In doing so, this program offers a unique opportunity to integrate Jewish values with effectiveness-oriented principles, empowering participants to make a meaningful impact in the world.

Upcoming Sessions
The next fellowship cohort is scheduled to begin the week of April 20th and will run for 8 weeks. Interested individuals are encouraged to apply by Thursday, April 17 to secure a spot.
